June 1st – 10th
4 sets of Nyung Nays
(followed by Chenrezig tsog – Sunday morning, June 10th)

By taking the temporary eight precepts (avoiding killing, stealing, sex, lying, intoxication, using high seats or beds, dancing or singing, eating after noon, wearing perfume or jewelry, etc.), the causes for experiencing happiness in this and future lives and, ultimately, attaining enlightenment, are created.

By reciting the mantra of Chenrezig and offering prostrations, every conceivable kind of negative action can be purified, and all conditions favorable for spiritual growth are reinforced.

If you have not received the Kusum Gongdu Avalokiteshvara (Tib. Chenrezig) empowerment, please let the events office know.

The first set begins on Friday, June 2nd. Each day begins very early in the morning, so plan on spending the night the day before the first set you are attending. In the late afternoon/early evening of Thursday, June 1st, Lama Padma will bestow the empowerment, followed by a teaching and explanation of the practice. The fast ends at dawn Saturday morning, June 10th, and the tsog should end by late morning.
