Rigdzin Ling is now accepting applications for volunteers during the spring, summer and fall. There will be many opportunities in which to be engaged, but the most activities will be outdoors on the grounds of beautiful 250 acres in the Trinity Alps of Northern California. The principle activity this year is to continue in the restoration of the Eight Great Stupas. These sacred structures, expressions of enlightened mind, were originally built during 1995-2001 under the direction of the meditation master, Chagdud Rinpoche, the founder of Chagdud Gonpa Rigdzin Ling. Over the years the effects of the elements have deteriorated the surfaces. In 2011, we began the restoration with plaster and paint. This year we will continue the colorful painting, with an appropriate level for everyone, regardless of any previous experience. If you have any experience in masonry there will also be repair work to do.

H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche taught that whoever sees a stupa, hears the wind blowing around it, touches or remembers it, establishes an auspicious connection with their own enlightenment. Like a powerful generator of positive energy, it is a sacred presence that radiates peace, harmony and healing throughout the world, dispelling hindrances and negative energy.  These traditional stupas at Rigdzin Ling commemorate eight significant events in the life of Shakyamuni Buddha.
