Mahayana Buddhism, the journey

teachings on the key points of training
the mind in wisdom and compassion
according to a text by the great Tibetan

_____________________

Lama Padma Gyatso was ordained as a Nyingma lama in 1996 by Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche and is currently the Head Lama of Chagdud Gonpa North America. In 2004, he was entrusted by the lineage holders at Tromge Gonpa in Tibet to uphold and propagate this special Chenrezig cycle of practice. Currently, he is the Lama-in-Residence at Rigdzin Ling in Northern California.

The four thoughts are considered to be the foundation of turning the mind to dharma and the spiritual path of Buddhism in an authentic way. The four thoughts are: the preciousness of human life, impermanence, the truth of cause and effect, and the inherent sufferings of life and death. Contemplation of these four thoughts brings about appreciation and love for others as well as positive motivation for leading a spiritual life.
